The reason we set up our guitars is simple: they are mass-produced in factories, and therefore, many of them aren¿t in perfect playing condition until professionally adjusted. Our specialists¿ primary concern is the playability of the instrument, which usually concerns the height of the strings from the fingerboard. If the strings are too high, the player has to press down harder on the strings to play the instrument. At Perry¿s, the key adjustment we make is lowering the strings, or lowering the "action", so they can be pressed on the frets easily. This key adjustment will give anyone an advantage in playing his guitar. For all players and especially important for beginners, lowered action means not straining to press down on the strings, which can be frustrating and painful. With low action, you will be able to play your instrument effortlessly, and as a result, you¿ll be able to play to your maximum potential. Besides lowering the action, we do a complete overhaul on the entire instrument prior to selling. We make sure the neck is straight, level the frets to reduce possible buzzing, cut the saddle and nut on acoustics or lower the nut and bridge on electric guitars for proper intonation. We also apply oils to the fingerboard to help preserve the wood and bring out the beauty of the grain.

These services, combined into our most popular repair called a "Fret Special", would cost $50 if you were to bring in a guitar of your own. We do hundreds of these repairs a year for people who didn¿t buy their guitar from us and then realized that it was too difficult to play it.
